Chris Slater
Instructor


Chris Slater a Level 5 USA Hockey Coach and Graduate of Western Michigan University;
Coach Slater spent two seasons coaching Junior A hockey and two seasons as the head coach of the Western Michigan University "Stallions" a Division 1 member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Slater guided the 2008-9 "Stallions" to their first National Tournament appearance in ten years. Formerly the Coaching Director of the Battle Creek Youth Hockey Association; Chris also served as the Michigan Director for Robby Glantz Power Skating, INC.
A 2004 East Coast Hockey League Champion as a member of the Idaho Steelheads, Chris was selected to the ECHL all-star team in 2001 and attended the Detroit Red Wings training camp later that same year. During his 7 year professional career, “Slats” also had stops in the American Hockey League, British Super League and English Elite League. A competitive college defenseman at Michigan State University, the two time United States Olympic Festival participant was voted to the CCHA all-tournament team in 1995. During his time at Michigan State Slater was honorable mention for the CCHA all-rookie team and a three year pre-season all-american candidate in the American Hockey Coaches Association poll.

Before joining the college ranks Chris was a 3 year veteran for the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings member of the North American Hockey League which was then a Tier 1 Junior A league. During his time with the K-Wings Slater was a 2 time Robertson Cup Champion, 2 time 1st team All-Star, and Defenseman of the year. During this time Coach Slater also represented the United States on the National 16 and 17 teams; competing in many international competitions worldwide.

Nick Redmon
On and Off Ice Trainer


Nick played juniors for the Nashville junior predators in the NA3HL for 2 years. He finished his junior career playing for the Lone Star Brahmas in the NAHL. Currently Nick is playing for the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the NCAA. He is also currently working towards his undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in German Language.

Carl Lainesse
Instructor


Carl Has 40 years of playing and coaching experience. He played hockey in Quebec, and Ontario Canada in till Juniors, coaching for over 18 years. Coaching all levels from Instructional to Midgets and helped coach a midget team to Nationals. Carl also helped open Puckmasters in Wixom, MI, and also is a retired 20-year referee.

Nicholas Goettel
On-Ice & Off-Ice Instructor


Goettel played two years of junior hockey in the NA3HL for the Flint Jr. Generals where he served as an alternate captain and then captain. He then went on to play four years of college hockey at the ACHA D1 level for Adrian College. He served as a co-captain both junior and senior years. Goettel will attend Oakland University in the fall to obtain his doctorate degree in physical therapy.

Jacob Lainesse
On-Ice & Off-Ice Instructor


Jake played 3 years of juniors, 2 in the NA3HL for the Flint jr Generals and as the captain Nashville jr Predators and finishing with the Hampton Roads Whalers winning the USPHL-elite championship as the alternate captain. Jake is now playing NCAA hockey for Stevenson University and is working toward a bachelors degree in biology in hopes of attending medical school.
